Q. What is vinyasa yoga?
Translated, vinyasa means, "Breathe Synchronized Movement". Yoga means, "To yoke". This flow-like yoga style is set to music and requires synchronized breathing for full effectiveness.
Q. What are the benefits from vinyasa yoga?
Flexibility, inner and outer strength, introspection, healthfulness and increased spirituality are just a few benefits.
Q. How much does the class cost?
The class is free, however donations are gratefully accepted. All proceeds benefit the cause of Andrew's Gift, a foundation dedicated to those with autism.
Q. Do I need to register for the class?
Weekly classes are posted to the calendar (see Schedule and RSVP). Kindly let me know you are coming. Special requests may be made for private or semiprivate classes by selecting the above option "Contact".
Q. How long is the class?
Generally speaking, vinyasa class will last one hour unless you see words like "extended savasana, chakra balancing," etc. If in doubt, please ask.
Q. What if I don't have a mat?
If you have your own mat, please bring it. Otherwise, mats, towels, and other props are provided.
Q. What should I wear?
Stretchy, comfortable clothing works best. Wearing layers is a good idea. You can add and remove articles of clothes as your body heats and cools.
Q. I am not flexible. Can I still practice yoga?
Yoga is for everybody. You will be given several options for poses and the level of intensity is in your hands. Increased flexibility is just one of the many benefits derived through yoga practice so please join us.
